Scholarly Activity Day and Reception for Poster Presentations
May 16, 2007
Just prior to graduation each year, the Internal
Medicine Residency Program sponsors a poster session and
reception showcasing resident research. The reception is
attended by staff, research mentors, and residents. Projects
run the gamut of medical specialties in both basic science
and clinical research.
The 12th Annual Scholarly Activity Day 2007 featured 52
posters, a food and wine reception, and
music by a violinist and cellist.
Visiting Professor Ralph Snyderman, MD, Emeritus Chancellor
for Health Affairs and President and CEO, Duke University
Health System, presented a thought-provoking lecture on
"Prospective Medicine: The Next Health Care Transformation"
at Internal Medicine Grand Rounds the following morning.
The Internal Medicine Research Competition winners chosen from submitted abstracts, presented their findings at the Division of Medicine Grand Rounds the following week. This year's winners were:
