American Board of Internal Medicine Research Pathway

Our program offers the opportunity for a few exceptional residents with demonstrated excellent clinical and research ability to participate in the ABIM Research Pathway. This pathway provides the opportunity for residents with significant prior research experience to complete clinical training and return to their research in a shorter period of time, either with subspecialty or general internal medicine clinical training. This is available on an extremely competitive basis to residents dedicated to pursuing an academic career path in general internal medicine or a subspecialty. Applicants interested in this pathway should notify us in advance of planned interview. Consideration may also be given to interns who decide to pursue this course of training during their PGY1 year. To learn more about the specific American Board of
Internal Medicine (ABIM) requirements for this pathway, please visit >http://www.abim.org/certification/policies/research/requirements.aspx.
