Cleveland Clinic provides residents with an
outstanding environment for learning and professional development. The dedication
to resident education and research produces graduates that
lead successful careers in subspecialty and primary care internal medicine. The opportunity to learn from attending physicians that are leaders in their field is an honor. The collegial training environment is
one of the program’s greatest attributes. The staff
physicians are a tremendous resource of knowledge for residents
and the quality of teaching at the didactic sessions is
a significant strength of the program.
When I started the process of looking for
the right place to begin my residency training, Cleveland
Clinic stood out to me because of the
emphasis placed on training residents to be at the forefront
of both
clinical practice and research. As a primary care
track resident I am given time during my training to both
develop my clinical skills and pursue research interest.
Attending physicians are both willing and eager to mentor
residents and help them reach their professional goals.
Working in an environment where evidence-based medicine
is both practiced and produced is a stimulating and rewarding
experience. I am truly grateful for the opportunity
to train at one of the best hospitals in the country.
After growing up in Montana and going to medical school in Southern California it has been interesting to explore another part of the country. Cleveland offers a diverse range of activities from museums to world-class orchestra concerts to professional sports venues. As an outdoor enthusiast I have been impressed by the metro park system and the vastness of Lake Erie. It is also an affordable city to live in which helps make life more comfortable on a resident salary! |
