Abigail LaraI chose to become a resident at the Cleveland Clinic because it contained all of the key components I believed a residency program should have. It is a large, academic institution with excellent research opportunities and diversity in patient population, residents and staff. The clinical experience is incredible. Not only do I feel that residents are very well trained in the management of common "bread and butter" diseases, but we are also exposed to the "zebras" of medicine. With a broad experience that will allow us to practice in any clinical setting with confidence.
I have truly enjoyed my experience at the Cleveland Clinic. The exposure to and the teaching by the physicians who are the "world's expert" in their fields has been exceptional, both from an academic standpoint and from a personal standpoint. During my training here, I have developed great relationships with staff who have truly supported and fostered my career. I have developed long-lasting friendships with residents both within my own residency as well as in other specialties. I could not have chosen a better residency program for training.
