Chelif JunorParamount to the success of any residency program is its ability to provide broad-based clinical exposure to its house officers in an interactive setting. Concomitant with clinical exposure, success must ultimately be measured by the program’s ability to instill an unremitting culture of lifelong learning in its residents.
I chose the Cleveland Clinic not only for its world-renowned reputation, medical heritage, and vast contribution to medical science, but also because it embodies diversity. At the Cleveland clinic, we are privileged to serve members across socio-economic levels with differing ethnic backgrounds. As a family of physicians, both staff and house staff, we work along side the best and brightest minds in medicine from virtually all the continents across the globe. This diversity has been invaluable to me and will remain so as I embark on the final phases of my medical training.
Our work environment at the Cleveland Clinic is one to be envied by programs across the nation. Our staff physicians allow autonomy and provide bedside teaching to sharpen clinical acumen. We have a team of well learned, highly astute, and personable program directors who are attuned to the changing expectations and needs of the residents. Our longitudinal clinics are housed in state-of-the-art facilities. We are each assigned a preceptor who is dedicated to teaching and to providing excellent patient care.
I would highly encourage those interested in general internal medicine or subspecialty training to consider this extraordinary residency program
