A World-Class Team

Ranked among the nation’s top hospitals by U.S.News & World Report, Cleveland Clinic is a pre-eminent academic medical center and international health resource.  Recognized as a world leader among radiological academic centers, Cleveland Clinic is committed to offering the highest-quality imaging and interpretation services for physicians and patients.

These services are provided under the direction of the Cleveland Clinic Imaging Institute, one of the busiest clinical departments in the country.  The institute is staffed by more than 150 boardcertified radiologists who collectively interpret some 1.8 million radiology exams a year.  Most radiologists are fellowship trained in a subspecialty and rank as experts in their chosen field. A peer review process ensures continuing quality of interpretations.

Immediate Access

The imaging department at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health utilizes a radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) that are linked to Cleveland Clinic, enabling our physicians and technologists to communicate in real time.  Via this high-speed connection, images and selected patient information are securely sent to our radiologists for immediate interpretation, if necessary.

Timely Reports

Exam interpretations are available within 24 hours and are faxed directly to referring physicians.  STAT results are available upon request.  Follow up with referring physicians on unusual or unexpected findings and on STAT exams is performed when appropriate.  Radiologists are available for phone consultations regarding reports.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

The exceptionally strong magnetic field of our 3.0 Tesla high-field open-bore MRI scanner results in superior image quality and short scan times.  This scanner features advanced capabilities that allow performance of exams most other systems are unable to acquire.  Thus, radiologists gain the ability to see into the body in new ways, to detect and diagnose disorders at earlier stages, and to gather valuable information for research.

With its innovative design, the scanner can accommodate virtually all types of patients, including those with large body mass and those with claustrophobia.  Radiologists obtain the detailed images they need to provide the highest-quality care, at no sacrifice of patient comfort.

Computed Tomography

Advanced CT technology produces high-resolution bone and soft-tissue imaging with fast exam times, improved fine-detail resolution and state-of-the-art post-processing.

Commitment to Quality

With Cleveland Clinic imaging specialists reviewing your patient’s exam, you can have confidence in the accuracy of the interpretation.  We care deeply about the services we provide because the results we generate for your patient will ultimately influence our long-standing reputation for excellence.
