Sharing World-class Developments With You...

Cleveland Clinic first opened its doors on Feb. 28, 1921.  It was a new kind of medical center: a not-for-profit group practice, dedicated to patient care enhanced by research and education.  Since this time, Cleveland Clinic has grown into an integrated healthcare delivery system, with locations on both hemispheres, linked by information technology, critical care transport and a collaborative model of medicine.  In many ways, the Cleveland Clinic of 2011 is very much like the Cleveland Clinic of 1921.  Cleveland Clinic is still a not-for-profit group practice with a mission of patient care, research and education.  It has grown through the years by adhering closely to that model and putting the needs of patients first.  Today, as we celebrate our 90th anniversary, Cleveland Clinic is one of the largest and busiest medical centers in the world.

We invite you to celebrate our 90 years of patient care, innovation, research and education with us by checking out our Celebrating 90 Years of World-Class Service website.

Cleveland Clinic has progressed from innovation to innovation to get to where we are today.  The spring issue of Speaking of Specialty Services focuses on Cleveland Clinic advancements in cancer treatment, as well as some exciting news about our newly accredited Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplant Program.  I hope you enjoy the spring issue, and I welcome your feedback as always.

Sincerely,
Michael McMillan
