Liver Transplant Milestone at Cleveland Clinic - 25 Year Anniversary

Twenty-five years ago on November 8th, Cleveland Clinic performed its first adult liver transplant.  Since then the growth and expansion of the program has made it one of the top five in the nation.  Cleveland Clinic's Liver Transplant Team is projecting the completion of more than 1,450 transplants by years end.

Cleveland Clinic's liver transplant program is an essential component of a broad medical and surgical strategy to manage all patients with liver disease with the most appropriate therapy.  Experts in all areas of liver disease participate in the evaluation, management, treatment and follow-up of liver transplant patients.

The 2008 Transplant Center Annual Report (PDF) which includes current outcomes and key data for all Cleveland Clinic transplant programs is available for download.
