Ashok Agarwal, PhD, HCLD, is the Director of the Clinical Andrology Laboratory and Reproductive Tissue Bank and the Director of American Center for Reproductive Medicine in the Department of Urology at Cleveland Clinic. He is a Professor at the Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic, Ashok was an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School from 1988 to 1992. A dedicated researcher and laboratory andrologist, he has published more than 500 scientific papers and review articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored over 100 book chapters, and has edited more than 18 medical text books/ manuals related to male infertility, ART, fertility preservation, DNA damage and antioxidants. He serves on the editorial board of over 20 scientific journals. Dr. Agarwal's laboratory has trained over 500 basic scientists, clinicians, biologists, medical, pre-med and high school students over the past 20 years.
Edmund S. Sabanegh, Jr., MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Urology at the Cleveland Clinic and Director of Center for Male Infertility in the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute. He is also the Program Director for the Male Infertility Fellowship Program. Dr. Sabanegh is the Professor of Surgery at the Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and is board-certified in Urology. He has authored more than 100 scientific articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. His surgical interests include microsurgical reconstruction of the male reproductive tract and advanced sperm harvest techniques. His research interests include complex reconstructions for obstruction of the reproductive tract, fertility preservation in cancer patients, varicoceles, and environmental influences on fertility.
Rakesh Sharma, PhD, is the coordinator of the Andrology Laboratory and the American Center for Reproductive Medicine in the Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute and holds a joint appointment in Urology and Ob-Gyn. Dr. Sharma is an investigator on over 50 research grants. He has published more than 170 scientific papers and review articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored over 24 book chapters, and has presented more than 350 papers at national and international scientific meetings. He is a member of many professional societies, including the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Society of Andrology, and the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction. His research interests include oxidative stress in male and female infertility, cryopreservation and endometriosis.
Sajal Gupta, MD, is the Project Staff in the Glickman Urological Institute and serves as the Assistant Coordinator of Research at the American Center for Reproductive Medicine since 2006. She is the supervisor of the andrology laboratory in the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute and is assistant coordinator of research for the American Center for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Gupta earned a Bachelor's of Medicine and Surgery from Lady Harding Medical College, University of Delhi, India. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Delhi followed by a research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. She was named Research Fellow of the Year in 2006 for her work in female reproduction research. Dr. Gupta has published more than 40 review articles and scientific papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and a book chapter and has presented at nearly three dozen national and international scientific meetings. Dr. Gupta is an ad hoc reviewer for Human Reproduction, Fertility & Sterility, and European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is an investigator on 3 research grants and her current research interests include the role of free radicals in male & female infertility, endometriosis, assisted reproductive techniques and gamete cryobiology.
