Graduated from Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad, Pakistan in 1993 and finished her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2000. She did her M. Phil. (2001-2003) from Quaid-I-Azam University, Islamabad in Human Genetics and then worked as a Senior Registrar at Hashim Hospital from 2003-2005. In March 2004 she enrolled for her Ph.D. from Quaid-I-Azam University. Dr. Khalid was a Research Fellow in Gynecology at The Cleveland Clinic from January 2006 to January 2007.
