Current Research Personnel

Dr. Sezgin Gunes received her MS and PhD in Medical Biologyand Genetics from the Faculty of Medicine, Ondokuz MayisUniversity, Turkey where she is currently an Associate Professor of Medical Biology. Dr. Gunes is a Research Fellow in the Center for Reproductive Medicine, Cleveland Clinic since June 2014, where her current research include the association between epigenetics, cytogenetics, and alteration of gene expression.

Dr. Stefan du Plessis is an Associate Professor, Head of Division of Medical Physiology, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Head of Stellenbosch University Reproductive Research Group (SURRG), Department of Biomedical Sciences in Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Dr. du Plessis joined the Center for Reproductive Medicine in Sep 2014 as a Fulbright Scholar, where his research will focus on sperm protein modifications and proteomic profiles in certain reproductive pathologies.

Dr. Avi Harlev is a Senior Physician in the Fertility and IVF Unit, Soroka University Medical Center, Israel. He is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva, Israel, from where he graduated as an MD in 2004 upon completing his BMSc in 2000. Dr. Harlev joined the Center for Reproductive Medicine in Sep 2014 to conduct advanced research in male infertility and andrology.

Dr Gulfam Ahmad is an Assistant Professor of Physiology, University of Health Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. He received his PhD in Medicine of Reproduction and Developmental Biology with specialization in Andrology from the University of Toulouse, France. He has a Master degree in Clinical Embryology as well as another Master in Reproduction and Development from the University of Paris and an Inter University Degree in Clinical Andrology and Male Fertility from the University of Toulouse. Dr Ahmad joined the Center for Reproductive Medicine, Cleveland Clinic in Oct' 2014 as Fulbright Scholar to research in the area of male infertility with a focus on the proteomics of male reproductive cancers.
