The Cleveland Clinic Vascular Anomalies Program has
been established as a multidisciplinary organization aimed to become
a leading tertiary center for patients with vascular anomalies.
This unique program understands the frustration that thousands of
patients and their families have experienced with the limited availability
of dedicated medical centers that specifically deal with vascular
anomalies. The Cleveland Clinic Vascular Anomalies Program hopes
to significantly contribute to scientific literature and increase
the body of knowledge in this rapidly growing field through continuous
efforts to explore more effective means of diagnostic tools and
alternative treatment options along with ongoing research activities.
The treatment of vascular anomalies ranges from minimally
invasive interventional procedure to extensive surgical procedures.
Diagnosis of vascular anomalies can be extremely difficult; therefore,
a dedicated multidisciplinary team effort is necessary not only
to make an accurate diagnosis of vascular anomalies, but also to
improve the diagnostic ability of the current imaging modalities
and any available treatment alternatives. The CCF Vascular Anomalies
Program has regular case-discussion meetings regarding our referral
patients, as well as to discuss ongoing matters related to vascular
anomalies. Dr. Orhan Konez, Director of the Vascular Anomalies Program,
is dedicated to vascular anomalies and their treatment using various
interventional techniques.
The program is interested in establishing
a convenient referral path (e-mail) for self referral
patients and practicing physicians for our case discussion
group, so that more uniform and modern diagnostic imaging
techniques can be applied appropriately to all cases
resulting in minimized misdiagnosis and inadequate treatment.
