Physicians in the Section of Pediatric
Sports Medicine provide consultation, diagnosis and management
for children and adolescents with problems or injuries related
to athletics. In a multidisciplinary setting, patients are
evaluated and treated by a team of sports medicine physicians,
primary care physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, exercise physiologists,
physical therapists and athletic trainers.
The focus of the section is on comprehensive
care for the young athlete at any level, from recreational
to competitive. Available services include physical evaluation
of injuries and medical problems, complete fitness evaluation,
and therapeutic and maintenance exercise programs.
