Welcome to the Pastoral Care Department
Cleveland Clinic is committed to providing pastoral and spiritual counseling to all who need it, including patients and their families, Cleveland Clinic staff and employees.
The Department of Pastoral Care consists of chaplains of various faith groups to help foster healing. Without imposing their beliefs or practices, they will attend to your spiritual needs through empathetic listening and compassionate presence. All chaplains maintain confidentiality in counseling relationships.
- Protestant -- Chaplains offer spiritual comfort, prayer, scripture and counseling at your request.
- Catholic -- Priests and eucharistic ministers offer sacramental ministries, including the Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing) and the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).
- Jewish -- Rabbis are available upon request.
- Muslim -- Imams are available upon request.
- Eastern Orthodox -- Priests are available upon request.
- Special requests for ministers of faith groups not represented in the Department are handled adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
