My Mother & her Life with Multiple Myeloma Over the years and mostly starting with the days of my training I have struggled with the concept of cancer, death and dying. I will never forget my chief and mentor (Dr. Joseph Aisner) back in the days of my fellowship, getting mad at me when I presented a case to him and indicated that the patient was terminal! He then proceeded to teach me that all of us are terminal. From there on I have avoided using the term and do indicate to every one that all of us a re terminal. More recently however, and after listening to a religious group that came to my door one weekend; I realized that for almost all religions we are eternal just from one place to the other. This series by Ms Susan Lewando not only describes how her mother was able to live with her disease but what the family and the health care professionals have learned from this process. This will be a monthly series, hopefully will help all of live with our difficulties. Please click on above links to navigate to the different parts of the series. Mohamad Hussein
