Walter Allen Wilburn
Dec. 20, 1949 - Dec. 16, 2000

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Walter A. Wilburn, former patient care and physical therapy assistant in the Mellen Center. Walter worked with the Day Treatment Program and was missed by our patients when he was forced into retirement by an injury in 1996. Walter gave much of himself to the Mellen Center and our patients, and said he felt it was his calling to help older and disabled people. He is survived by his devoted mother, Mildred; son Walter Jr.; his beloved grandson, Walter III (Dude); and many other relatives. Those whose lives were touched by Walter will never forget his kindness.
