Richard Kaplan, PhD
Dr. Richard Kaplan is President and Founder of Consolidated Research of Richmond, Inc. and its most recent subsidiary, General Sleep Corporation. Dr. Kaplan has been working in the medical device industry for over 20 years, and has successfully lead the development of two innovative, FDA cleared, medical monitoring technologies in the fields of anesthesia monitoring and sleep medicine. He has been the principal investigator on a wide range of IRB approved research studies, holds numerous patents in the U.S. and worldwide, and authored many publications. His most recent efforts have been directed toward development of new and innovative technologies and products for the non-drug treatment of insomnia and other sleep disorders. A long time resident of the Cleveland area, Dr. Kaplan holds a B.S., MS, and PhD in systems and control engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
