Getting Started Invention Criteria Commercialization

The commercialization process begins when an Invention Disclosure Form is submitted to CCI.

Your invention must meet the following three criteria:

  • Commercial viability
  • Medical efficacy (as assessed by medical practitioners)
  • Protectability via patent, copyright, or trade secret

Inventions in the active commercialization state can be:

  • Licensed
  • Spun-off to a new company
  • Included in industrial partnerships
