IL 6/8/05 – The Alpha
Phi Foundation announces the winner of the 2005 Cardiac Care Award,
the Cleveland Clinic Foundation of Cleveland, OH. Each year the Alpha Phi
Foundation accepts applications for the Cardiac Care Award in recognition
of exceptional educational and/or research based programs on women’s cardiac
health. Through this award the Alpha Phi Foundation is able to reach numerous
women and communities throughout North America, further educating women
on the importance of cardiac health and the dangers of this disease. The
Cleveland Clinic Foundation will be awarded a $50,000 grant towards their
initiative.
The Cleveland Clinic Foundation will be supported by the Alpha Phi Foundation and the Cardiac Care Award in the development of an outreach program designed to address the distinct needs of women seeking cardiac information and care. The program includes the creation of a website offering cardiac care risk assessment tools, hearth healthy tips, available community resources and links to e-nutrition and e-prevention sites available through the clinic. The Cleveland Clinic has previously begun construction of the Heart Center – a facility that will become the largest single purpose medical care facility in the United States. Nearly a million square feet of this facility will be dedicated towards cardiac disease assessment, care, education and research in the form of the Women’s Center for Cardiovascular Medicine. The Alpha Phi Foundation is proud to be a sponsor of such an exceptional program. A nonprofit organization, the Alpha Phi Foundation, is
the philanthropic and Alpha Phi Foundation supports community charitable projects,
a variety of scholarships and financial aid, leadership training programs
and cardiac care initiatives for women. |
