Vascular Medicine
Al Solaiman, Firas , M.D. - Participates in clinical supervision in the inpatient, outpatient and vascular laboratory settings. He provides educational support thru lectures and Journal Club supervision.
Bartholomew, John, M.D. - Section Head of Vascular Medicine participates in clinical supervision in the inpatient, outpatient and vascular laboratory settings. He serves as a research mentor for fellows and residents and provides substantial educational support thru lectures, Journal Club supervision, and fellow’s conference. He also serves as a continuity clinic mentor.
Celestin, Carmel, M.D.
Douglas, Joseph, D.O. - Participates in clinical supervision in the inpatient, outpatient and vascular laboratory settings. He provides educational support thru lectures and Journal Club supervision. He also serves as a research project mentor.

Gomes, Marcelo, M.D.
Heather Gornik, M.D. - Director of Vascular Medicine Research and Vascular Laboratory is dedicated to increasing research trials within the section. She participates in clinical supervision in the inpatient, outpatient and vascular laboratory settings. She has experience in developing clinical trials and currently serves as a research mentor for the fellows in research projects. She contributes to the educational program thru lectures and Journal Club supervision.
Michael Maier, D.P.M. - Participates in clinical supervision in the outpatient setting in the wound care clinic. He provides educational support thru lectures and Journal Club supervision.
William Ruschhaupt, M.D. - The senior-most member of the section, he participates in clinical supervision in the inpatient and outpatient settings and provides educational support thru lectures.
Interventional Cardiology Staff
Christopher Bajzer, M.D.; Leslie Cho, M.D.; and Samir Kapadia, M.D.– provide educational support and training in the peripheral interventional laboratory allowing the fellows to gain exposure to techniques for angiography, venography, and peripheral intervention.
Hematology-Pathology Staff
Kandice Kottke-Marchant, M.D., PhD – She serves as the director for the rotation thru hematology-pathology allowing the fellows to gain experience in difficult coagulation management issues. She provides educational support thru lectures, coag conference and heme-path lectures/sign-out rounds. She is willing and available as a research mentor.
