Health Care Team

The George M. and Linda H. Kaufman Center for Heart Failure was created in 1997 with the support of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Departments of Cardiovascular Medicine and Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. This Center offers a comprehensive, integrative approach to the research, diagnosis and treatment of heart failure and cardiomyopathy.

The Kaufman Heart Failure Team

This outstanding mix of well-trained, dedicated, hard-working individuals believe in the goal of prevention and improved care of those with heart failure.

They are charged with studying:
  • The basic pathophysiology of heart failure
  • The clinical characteristics of heart failure
  • The best treatment modalities of heart failure
The Kaufman Center brings together a team of experts from multiple disciplines, including medicine, surgery, electrophysiology, cardiovascular imaging, and basic and clinical research.

Our physicians utilize the combined resources of the Heart Center to accurately diagnose the cause of each patient’s heart failure, which enables the execution of optimized treatments.

Central to our mission is the theme "excellence through teamwork."

Physician Staff of the Kaufman Center for Heart Failure have dual appointments in either the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine or the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery as well as in the Multi-organ Transplant Center. This integration of programs allows for more efficient utilization of services and optimizes our ability to access research resources.
