Arts and Entertainment

University Circle, Cleveland's cultural center, has the greatest concentration of museums and cultural activities in the country. Highlights of arts and entertainment in Greater Cleveland include:

Recreation and Sports

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Cedar Point Amusement Park and Geauga Lake Wildwater Kingdom offer summer fun. Abundant lakeshore provides for sailing enthusiasts boaters, swimmers and fishing enthusiasts. Winter in Cleveland unveils cross-country and downhill skiing, tobogganing and snowmobiling.

Major league sports are represented by Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians, National Basketball Association's Cleveland Cavaliers, National Football League's Cleveland Browns, and American Hockey League's Lake Erie Monsters.

Greater Cleveland offers an abundance of shopping malls and retail stores. When downtown, shop the Old Arcade, The Avenue - at Tower City Center and Steelyard Commons. The West Side Market, a traditional open-air market, gives you a taste of Cleveland's diversity. Those who enjoy dining out will appreciate the international flavor of Cleveland restaurants. Formal or casual, Cleveland's restaurants are a gourmet's delight.

Educational Opportunities

Cleveland is surrounded by excellent suburban school systems that rank with the nation's best. Many fine private schools also are located in the area, along with more than 20 colleges and universities.

Other major educational resources include the University Circle area encompassing the Cleveland Health Education Museum, Museum of Natural History, Western Reserve Historical Society and the Cleveland Music Settlement School.
