How do I search for information?
If you know the specific topic you are searching for, you can type the phrase in the search window.
Search tips:
If unsure about spelling, use part of the word, or use the alphabetical search to browse.
[Example: Fibromyalgia, use either "fibro" or "f"]
If a term returns no results, try to think of other related words,
[Example: for Cardiovascular try "Heart"]
If you are looking for a group of words, use the simplest form.
[Example: Pediatric Heart Transplant, search "Heart" or "Transplant"]
How do I know the information is up-to-date?
Most documents in the Health Information Center are updated every other year. All documents include a revision date at the bottom, so you can tell how current they are.
Where does the information come from?
About 85% of the information in The Cleveland Clinic Health Information Center has been written and approved by Cleveland Clinic physicians, nurses or other health care professionals. Additional information has been pulled from reputable resources, such as the National Institutes of Health or other national organizations. Sources for this information are cited at the bottom of each health information document.
Which department is related to this topic area and how can I find a doctor in this department?
Each document has a link back to a department that corresponds with the topic. From the department web page you can find a staff directory and an appointment.
What if I cannot listen to the audio portion of a program?
When you try to access the program it will give you a link to download free software so that you can listen to the program. In some cases, your computer may not have a piece of hardware, called a "sound card." If you do not have a sound card you cannot listen to the program.
