General prevention guidelines

Before beginning an exercise program or training for an athletic event, follow a few simple guidelines to help prevent injuries.

Prevent injuries with a complete examination
Prevent injuries with proper attire and equipment
Prevent injuries by training and playing "smart"
Prevent injuries by training correctly
Warm-up and stretching

Prevent injuries by proper warm-up and stretching

Prevent injuries by stretching
First aid treatment for injuries (RICE)
