  • Use of tobacco products causes over 440,000 deaths each year.
  • Levels of secondhand smoke in restaurants are about 160-200% higher than in office workplaces. Levels in bars are 400-600% higher than in office workplaces.
  • Studies show that a 10% increase in the price of cigarettes reduces consumption by 7% for youth and 4% for adults.
  • The Center for Disease Control estimates that each pack of cigarettes sold in the U.S. costs the country $7.18 in medical care costs and lost productivity.
