Get Your School to Become 100% Tobacco Free

What is a 100% Tobacco Free School Policy?
This means that no student, staff member or school visitor is permitted to smoke, inhale, dip or chew tobacco at any time, including non-school hours:

  • in any building, facility or vehicle owned, leased, rented or chartered by the state/district/school;
  • on school grounds, athletic grounds or parking lots; or
  • at any school-sponsored event off campus.

Why adopt a 100% Tobacco Free School Policy?
Reduces health risks for students and staff Helps students to resist future and stop current tobacco use Promotes a healthy lifestyle and safe learning environment Assists in enforcement of state law prohibiting tobacco use by minors

How can you help your school district adopt a 100% Tobacco Free School Policy?
Adopting this policy is quick and easy – and through special funding available to your school, the district could even qualify for free signs to hang at your athletic field and on your school doors.

We’ll also help you develop a policy and communications plan, as well as work with your local media to help let the public know that you have become 100% tobacco free!
