What is TUPCF?
Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation

In November 1998, then Ohio Attorney General Betty Montgomery and attorneys general from 45 other states settled with the United States Tobacco Product Manufacturers. This Master Settlement Agreement calls for the tobacco companies to make payments to each of the states participating in the settlement. In March 2000, Governor Bob Taft signed Senate Bill 192 which created the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation (TUPCF). TUPCF gives grants to local organizations. These grants are used to reduce tobacco use in Ohio with a focus on youth, pregnant women, regional populations, and any other groups disproportionately affected by tobacco use.
