Palm Beach Friends Graduate from Healthy U.
Margaret Krupa's $6 Million Gift to Florida Announced.
From engaging in discussion of the latest treatments to considering the impact of leadership philanthropy, such as that of Colleen and John Lance, guests were given many opportunities to take charge of their health and wellness at Cleveland Clinic's Healthy U. educational event at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., on March 15.
The morning opened with Delos M. Cosgrove, M.D., CEO and President, sharing exciting news of Colleen and John Lance's gift of $500,000 to Cleveland Clinic Florida, bringing their total giving to $1 million. Mr. and Mrs. Lance expressed their gratitude for a lifetime of expert care.
Mrs. Lance said, "On the way over, I was thinking when I pass on from this planet and go in and see Saint Peter, he'll say to me 'You were supposed to be here ten years ago,' and I'll say, 'Not since Cleveland Clinic has been taking care of me.'"
John Lance, a fourth generation Ford dealer in Northeast Ohio, operated John Lance Ford for 40 years. The dealership, the oldest in Ohio and among the oldest in the United States, was founded in 1911 by John Lance's grandfather. The Lances sold the company in 1989. John Lance is active on Cleveland Clinic Florida's Weston Leadership Board.
Attendees had their choice of hour-long courses on relevant health topics. The interactive sessions offered an exclusive opportunity for questions and answers with specialty physicians representing Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Clinic Florida.
