Kids raise money for breast cancer research, awareness
Join Cleveland’s 5th annual The Race on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 11, at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst. Kids and their families are encouraged to participate in the 1-mile walk/run to raise money for breast cancer research, awareness and a cure.
Complete with music, face paintings, balloons, food and beverage samples from local Legacy Village shops, The Race continues to grow as more families join the cause.
In its first year, nearly $22,000 was raised. In 2007, donations rose substantially to $84,000. All donations will benefit the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute.
The Race is held on Mother’s Day each year to give families the opportunity to participate in something special to make a difference in their mothers’ lives and the lives of several thousand women diagnosed with breast cancer.
