From a Potential or Active Faculty Perspective

In contrast to other initiatives where the nurses who would serve as faculty were selected by a committee, and limited to clinical faculty positions, this initiative took the bold step to open the opportunity to all eligible nurses and teaching venues. This decision created additional opportunities to teach in the classroom, skills lab or even function as a preceptor or mentor in clinical research. More over, rather than limit the number of participating schools where faculty from the initiative can teach, all schools participating in the Deans Roundtable are eligible to recruit potential faculty.

For more information about faculty salaries, or the roles and responsibilities of faculty members please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section of this web site.

Using the Apply Now function, on the home page of the application, a nurse enters a professional profile through a series of four data entry screens. The initial registration screen allows the user to create a unique login and password for subsequent access to their profile. The professional profile screens collect:
  • Contact Information
  • Educational Background
  • Employment History
  • Areas of interest with regard to teaching opportunities
Once a nurse has entered a professional profile the information can be maintained and updated by logging in with the unique login and password created in the registration screen.

Courses with open positions are entered and maintained by an administrator for the respective school of nursing. Through links on your profile screen you can:
  • Search for open courses
  • Track the progress of your application to teach a particular course
  • Inactivate your profile when your are unavailable to teach
  • Reactivate your profile
