In contrast to other initiatives where the nurses who would serve as faculty were selected by a committee,
and limited to clinical faculty positions, this initiative took the bold step to open the opportunity to all
eligible nurses and teaching venues. This decision created additional opportunities to teach in the classroom,
skills lab or even function as a preceptor or mentor in clinical research. More over, rather than limit the
number of participating schools where faculty from the initiative can teach, all schools participating in the
Deans Roundtable are eligible to recruit potential faculty.
