From a School of Nursing Perspective
In contrast to other initiatives that targeted specific schools where faculty from the initiative would teach,
all schools participating in the Deans Roundtable are eligible to recruit potential faculty. Additionally,
this initiative does not limit the opportunities to clinical faculty positions. Participating schools have the
ability to post positions in clinical, classroom, skills lab, preceptor and research environments.
This comprehensive application provides the schools with a tool to post open positions, identify nurses in the
database who meet the criterion for those positions and manage applications from nurses who are interested in
those faculty positions. All of these functions are managed by those individuals who have been identified as
administrators for the individual schools.
Initially each school identifies a key administrator who is provided with a login by a Cleveland Clinic
administrator. The key administrator from each school can then define additional administrators who can
maintain and monitor open, closed and canceled courses and review nurses who have applied for open positions.
Where We Plan to Go from Here!
The discovery and analysis phase also defined needs for e-mail alerts, reporting functionalities and
identifying nurses who could only function as preceptors that were too complex to be included within
the first phase. This more complex functionality will be addressed in the second generation of the application.
