The Library provides a variety of computing resources:

• 37 Public Access Computers, all of which have Office2003 and Epic on the intranet
  • 1 Public Clinical Workstation in the Learning Resources Center
  • 11 pcs in the Learning Resources Center
  • 12 pcs on the first floor of the library
  • 12 pcs on the second floor of the library
  • 1 computer in Study Room A for library training
• Ethernet connections in the Library for laptops. Active drops are marked with "Enet" label.
  • Borrow Ethernet cables from the Library's front desk.
• Wireless access to the Internet in the NA building.
• Secure wireless access to the Intranet in the NA building must be set up by ITD.

Guidelines for Using Public Access Computers

• The public access computers are for searching for health care related information using any of the links provided by the Library, including CCF email and the Library Catalog.
• Printing is available except for Epic.
• If printing documents with confidential information, make sure you take it with you, or, give it to library staff to shred. Do not put documents with confidential information in the recycle bin.

Scanners

Two pcs in the Learning Resources Center have Epson scanners, Epson scanning software, and Photoshop Elements 4. These are available on a walk-up basis.

Laptop connections in the Library
Study carrels, tables, and study rooms in the Library have Ethernet drops to connect to the CCF network. Active drops are labelled with "ENET". There are NO modem or printer connections.

Library staff cannot configure laptops for network access. To connect to the network, a 10/100 network card is required.

Wireless in the Library
Laptops with wireless cards can connect to the Internet. Access to the secure wireless must be set up by ITD.
