The Medical University of Ohio maintains web pages containing instructions to authors regarding the format necessary to submit an article for publication in a particular journal. It is common for publishers to require authors to assign copyright ownership to them when an article is published. If you would like to obtain copyright permission for an article, go to the Instructions to Authors page of the journal in which the article was published. Frequently, contact information for copyright permissions is listed at the Instructions to Authors page.
If the author retains copyright ownership, you would need to contact the primary author for the article to request permission in addition to requesting permission from the journal. There is usually contact information for the primary author included with the article.
