Eligibility

Candidates for admission to any of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation's residency programs must have one of the following qualifications to be eligible for appointment to accredited residency programs:

  • Graduate from a medical school in the United States or Canada accredited by the LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education).

  • Graduate from a college of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the AOA (American Osteopathic Association).

  • Graduates of schools outside of the United States or Canada must meet one of the following qualifications:

    • Must have a currently valid certificate from the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). For more information on ECFMG certification, please write:

    • Hold a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction

  • Graduates of medical schools outside of the United States or Canada who have completed a Fifth Pathway Program provided by an LCME accredited medical school.
