Alan L. Hull, MD, PhD is the Director of the Center and serves as the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Since 1979 he has been on the faculties at The University of Michigan and Case Western Reserve University Schools of Medicine, focusing on medical education curriculum development and evaluation. He earned an MD from CWRU in 1996 and completed his Internal Medicine training in 1998; he was appointed as a staff physician at the CCF in 1998. He has responsible for coordinating the CCF education activities to improve clinical research, working with faculty to develop, implement and evaluate several courses (Introduction to Clinical Research, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Research Leadership, and Clinical Teaching) as well as the design of a new course in Clinical Trials to be offered during the 2005-2006 academic year. His role as Assistant Program Director for Education and Training in the NIH-funded CCF General Clinical Research Center has served as a focus for these activities. Dr. Hull has integrated these courses into the NEOUCOM MPH program, allowing CCF fellows and staff to participate in the MPH program to develop skills specific to clinical research skills. As Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs in the CCLCM, he is coordinating efforts to offer these courses as part of the CWRU curriculum to apply toward Master's Programs in MPH and Clinical Research that specifically enhance clinical research skills.
