‘‘Through selfless generosity, knowledge grows’’ Thank you for considering the bequest of your remains to the Body Donation Program at Cleveland Clinic. This unique gift gives you the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to medical science. Because of your gift, medical students, residents and faculty can gain knowledge, which may prolong or improve someone’s life. Enrollment in the program is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Upon enrollment, a donor card is provided and it should be carried at all times. At the time of death, the family should immediately notify the Cleveland Clinic at 216-444-2200. A body donation may also made by the next of kin after death by contacting Cleveland Clinic at 216-444-2200 at which time acceptability will be determined. To report a death, call 216-444-2200. Cleveland Clinic will arrange transportation and assume costs within a 75 mile radius of Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. Cleveland Clinic does NOT accept body donations from individuals living outside the State of Ohio. Cleveland Clinic has facilities to store individual remains in a securely locked anatomy laboratory. All bodies are stored in an appropriate manner and under specific security standards. After all studies have been completed, the remains can be returned to the next of kin, placed in a crypt owned by Cleveland Clinic at Lakeview Cemetery or sent to a designated family cemetery.
