INNOVATION

Name: Nafisa Reza
Program Name: Science Internship Program
Comments: completing a project on a subject that has not been analyzed at Fairview Hospital as in-depth as I have. I worked hard on a study that compared coronary stents in patients who had coronary atherosclerosis. Not only did I compare the rates of restensosis among the different stents, but I analyzed each patient's history (which I've never done before) to find common co-morbidities. I also did what few high school students (other than other CCF interns) get to do - observe major surgeries such as open heart surgery.

Comments: reviewing different ideas on how to help cure breast cancer. Also by watching a new robotics machine being used for the first time in the OR, this innovation helped the patient extremely.
