Success Stories
Our involvement with John Hay has been a huge success. The benefits of the program in the short-term are significant: Medical/Biological Thematic Program students earn higher grades, have better attendance, show greater maturity and communication skills, work better as a team, and volunteer more than their peers who are not in the program. Long-term benefits are even greater: Thematic students have won more college scholarships, continue to be accepted into four-year college programs, graduate as the class valedictorian, salutatorian, and members of the National Honor Society. They represent many of the Phi Beta Kappa honorees as well as the majority of the top twenty in their class. Partnership students have enrolled at major universities and colleges throughout the United States, pursuing careers in biology, chemistry, computer science, medicine, nursing, and other fields.
The Cleveland Clinic/John Hay Educational Partnership benefits both the students and The Cleveland Clinic. John Hay students have a better chance of achieving their dreams, and The Cleveland Clinic broadens its contributions to medicine through educating bright, committed young people who one day may return to their community -- and perhaps The Cleveland Clinic -- to help make a difference.
