Pharmacy Internship Program

In collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Internship Program was designed to expand high school student's knowledge of science and medicine as it relates to the professions associated with the practice of pharmacy at Cleveland Clinic, its community hospitals and family health centers. This nine-week paid internship provides selected students who have an interest in this career field an opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, research pharmacists and other pharmacy specialists at one of the leading academic medical centers in the country, gaining exposure to the wide range of career paths this field has to offer. Students will interact with pharmacists and technicians and patients to provide services in all types of patient care settings including inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care. Students will experience hands-on learning by working with various pharmacy personnel and receive individualized, structured mentorship about the pharmacy profession. These activities are designed to provide selected students who have an interest in the career field of pharmacy individually structured, full-time, pharmacy-related learning experiences during the summer. Interns have garnered and accepted considerable scholarship awards at top universities and institutions such as Boston, Princeton, Case Western Reserve University and Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).
