Medical Laboratory Internship Program

In collaboration with the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Institute, the Medical Laboratory Internship Program was designed to expand high school student's knowledge of and exposure to the wide range of career paths the field of medical laboratory science has to offer at Cleveland Clinic, one of the leading academic medical centers in the country, its community hospitals and family health centers. This nine-week, paid internship provides top Northeast Ohio high school students with the opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced medical laboratory professionals such as medical technologists & medical laboratory technicians, cytotechnologists & cytotechnicians, histotechnologists & histotechnicians, pathologists & molecular pathologists, chemists, hematologists, microbiologists, virologists, and laboratory informatics. Through hands-on learning and individualized mentoring, selected students who have an interest in the career field of pathology and medical laboratory science are provided with individually structured, full-time, medical laboratory science-related learning experiences during the summer. Interns have garnered and accepted considerable scholarship awards at top universities and institutions such as Boston, Princeton, Case Western and Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine (NEOUCOM).
