My name is Arrian. I am in the second grade at Audubon School in Cleveland. I learned about nutrition and healthy eating habits from Maxine Smith from the Cleveland Clinic. I made a necklace out of the fruit and vegetable section of the newspaper. I made the beads by rolling a long newspaper triangle on a pencil and then gluing the tube. Then I took it off the bead from the pencil and let it dry. Then I put the beads in a pattern of paper bead after plastic bead. Then I made a pendant that said, "I Love Fruit." The other side says, "fruit is cool." It is colorful and I can't wait to wear it. When you see this, remember to eat fruit and healthy things!

My artwork is called The Big Kidney Chain. All of the kidneys in the chain are different colors representing all nationalities, showing that anybody can help with kidney transplants and diseases. The background color represents the color of kidneys. Each kidney in the chain is advertising to help prevent kidney disease. The kidney chain shows that if you help just one person by donating a kidney, then they could help another. As more and more people help each other, the chain will grow longer. The chain also shows that we're all connected whether we teach about it or donate.

The Cleaners is about a boy who doesn't brush his teeth too often. One day when he was in his room, a portal opened and he was magically shrunken and sucked into his own mouth. He found the team of "Cleaners" that were there. He gained their trust by helping them and they worked together to clean his mouth and teeth using their hoses, spraying fluoride to kill all the bad bacteria.

This is an animation about a boy with failing kidneys. He needs to be on dialysis and get a transplant. Super Kidney gets the call to save him and tells us some facts about kidney disease. Super Kidney saves the boy, but having to reveal his identity blows his mind—which may also be the case with donors who don't always want to be found.

Good food helps the brain by supplying important nutrients. When people eat a healthy diet, they consume good nutrients. On the other hand, when people eat unhealthy foods, they don't absorb many nutrients. Instead they consume bad ingredients such as sugar and sodium. Therefore, my piece shows all the good food that people should eat.

Way to a Healthy Lifestyle shows that nutrition can play a big role in the health and body functions of American people. Having poor diets can cause diseases and make us overweight. Every day we should have a certain amount of fruits, vegetables, oils, meats, dairy, and grains. Remember that every time we eat something unhealthy, we're only hurting ourselves.

To live a healthy life, it is very important to exercise. You don't have to exercise all the time. You only need to exercise three times a week for 30 minutes each time to be healthy. To portray this, we showed a girl exercising three different times. It is added up to equal a healthy lifestyle.

I was inspired to make this art piece because of how our school lunches have changed over the past years. We have had bad food choices at our schools and students have done a lot of things to change the bad food to nutritious foods. The picture shows a healthy lunch that a student is anxious to eat.

Through my art, I show that the kidney (or any other vital organ, for that matter) provides life. In my art, the life happens to be going into a forest of trees full of green; the river is a lively blue. To capture the kidney's essence was not hard, but not entirely easy either. I used primarily reds to show the flow of blood (and essentially life) throughout the organ. I have the blue veins pumping more positive fuels into the greenery of the forest, whereas the red arteries let out the rest elsewhere. The meaning of my art in one word could be described as "Life."

I did this so you could see how they are all connected like plumbing. The pipes show how when a new kidney is put into your body, and the blood flows, it goes from white to light pink to red. It shows how important it is that you have all of these organs (the heart, liver, and kidneys) and how they work together.
