Writer's Statement

I chose to write a short story concerning the research of Matthew Nied. In this story, I show that it is relatively easy for patients to be unaware of their own stroke symptoms. I also wanted to express that it is common for stroke victims to delay presentation to the hospital and that much education about stroke symptoms is needed.
