Artist's Statement

My inspiration for this project came to me from a past experience of my own. When I was in middle school I became severely anemic and was being brought to the doctor's at a minimum of twice a week. I was always tired, couldn’t concentrate, became extremely pale, and I almost had to receive a blood transfusion. Experiencing this, I was able to put my own knowledge into my piece. I used many different details to symbolize the effects of anemia and blood transfusions like the dying flowers. I used my Nikon D50 and Adobe Photoshop CS3.
