Drained represents a major risk concerning this procedure, paraplegia. I wanted to represent the small percentage of patients that are affected. I used the twisting of the spine to emphasize the gnarled look of a paraplegic's spine, and the catheter is intertwined with the spine as it is in the procedure. I left the face in a rudimentary, masked state suggesting that this does not affect only a certain type of person. The head is also hanging slightly forward, indicating the feeling of helplessness or loss that a patient would feel if this were to occur.
