My work captures the idea of a patient that suffers from a cardiovascular disorder that originates in the heart. The disorder is treatable, but, because she is unable to afford the medications prescribed to her, she is falling, not only into despair, but also into bad health. The piece is called The Fifteenth Day because diagnostics performed on a patient are only valid for fifteen days. The artwork portrays the woman as fearful that she will not be able to purchase the medications by such a deadline.
