Artist's Statement

My piece illustrates a father’s love for his child. Marissa Rose's project dealt with the father’s choice for feeding their infant. Many times, we think of the mother as the only one who feeds and cares for the baby. The drawing emphasizes that the father has an equally important role in a child’s life and development, as Marissa's project did. I wanted to communicate a deep sense of love emanating from the father as he feeds his son. The crib in the background communicates an intimate setting and a personal connection between the two.
