Artist's Statement

This project was mixed media. The torso is carved from foam. The lungs were filled with beads and held in place with Elmers glue and plastic sheeting. There is a wire draped across the torso. The foam figure is cut in half and mounted on a white painted matting board. The matting board base is put together to allow for the torso to open and shut like a door. There is a layer of plastic inside the base to make the movement a bit smoother. There are bits of significant information written in marker on the matting board.
