MediumShort Story
I wrote this short story to give the reader a glimpse into the mind of a young girl who has just been diagnosed with diabetes. I wanted to highlight her fear, not only from being diagnosed, but from not being educated about the meanings of the terminology and phrases used by the surrounding doctors and nurses. I wanted to emphasize how her fear is multiplied because of her lack of understanding of how those words and terms apply to her as a patient and as a person.
