Writer's Statement

My writing submission reflects Marissa Rose's project in that my character is offered the alternative pain relief. However, my character is deaf, and so finds "relief" through, if you will, even more alternative ways than expected. The entire story deals with how my character comes to terms with this newfound disability, and how music can be found enjoyable once again.
