Writer's Statement

My short story reveals the inner thoughts of a father and the influence music has on his life. The father is in a car accident and thoughts flash through his mind. Each sound he hears as he recovers brings about memories from his life. At the end, music not only soothes his physical pain, but the mental anguish he feels. Marissa Rose's project showed the effects of music on pain. In this writing, I'm trying to convey that music can help with all kinds of pain, and is a basic part of life.
